but IT DOESN'T TAKE a man to open it.

In fact, of the thousands of feet that have crossed this threshold in the last 15 years, most have been wearing heels—which is why it's a woman speaking to you now.

Some of us come to this place because we’re ready to be seen—deeply, clearly, without apology. And even then, it's not easy.

We show up with noise in our heads, hoping to glimpse that piece of ourselves we fought so hard to get back—not in a glamour shot with a soul-killing filter. You can get that anywhere.

No, we want something of us, not merely like us.

With most photographers, it's about the light they put on us; Michael reveals the light that's within us. We trust him because he sees us through a lens that’s not about the shoot, the capture, or the take.

It's about being witnessed...

I'm Michael's wife Hilary, and there's something else I'd like to share with you.

It's about your man...

Woman to woman, we see things in our husbands, our sons, the men in our lives...things they might not yet see in themselves. Their potential, their, fight, their tired places—the parts of them that need guidance they simply can't get from us.

This is the kind of work Michael does for men. It's alchemy, really—how he leads them to clarity most were never taught (or given permission) to access.

His message travels a masculine frequency, but its impact resonates for us all, since a man who better knows himself becomes a better father, a better son, a husband.

Michael has been that kind of support for me for 28 years, and as has for our kids—especially our son. I know every young man isn’t blessed with a father present in his life—and even the ones who are sometimes need a different kind of energy input.

Either way, the world doesn’t need more lost boys waking up at 40 wondering who they are. It needs men who begin this work
now.

If you've got another minute, I would invite you to
go back and read what Michael has to say to the missing men he dedicated his book to—and if there’s one in your life, consider sharing this message with him.

Helping a man come home to himself is more than just a gift for him—it’s a gift for those who loves him.
