In fact, most of the feet that have crossed this threshold over the last 15 years have been wearing heels—which is why it's a woman speaking to you now.

Some of us come to this place because we’re ready to be seen—deeply, clearly, without apology. And even then, for most of us it's not easy.

We show up with a lot of noise in our heads, hoping to glimpse that piece of ourselves we fought so hard to get back—not in some glamour shot with a soul-killing filter. You can get that anywhere.

No, we want something of us, not merely like us.

Most photographers are about the light they put on us; Michael reveals the light that's within us. We trust him because he sees through a lens that’s not about the shoot, the capture, or the take.
